Amanda Maldonado is the lead therapist and Savasana Spa and Oasis. A graduate of the Swedish Institute in Chelsea, New York, Amanda brings nearly 10 years of experience to our massage program.
Versed in both eastern and western modalities of massage, Amanda often find herself combining shiatsu stretches and palpation of acupressure points with traditional Swedish and deep tissue techniques. Amanda is trained in deep tissue, Swedish, reflexology, pre- and post-natal massage, cold and hot stone therapy, neuromuscular and myofascial release, shiatsu, tui na and thai massage. She blends all of these modalities together to best meet the needs of her clients. Each session is a unique experience for both Amanda and her clients. She finds her style particularly beneficial for sports therapy and those who lead very active lifestyles.
When asked about her philosophy on massage and bodywork, Amanda shares, “I believe that the body is a self-healing, ever-changing and evolving vessel. Massage therapy is just one tool that helps facilitate healing and brings forth homeostasis. It’s important to me that every person I touch leaves with a better understanding of him or her self, what is going on inside of them and how to care for themselves going forth. Being trusted to help bring healing to human bodies for so many years has been one of the most treasured privileges of my life.”
